Procedure for processing returned books during COVID-19 restrictions
Part 1: Whilst wearing disposable gloves:
1. Collect books from campus’s designated returns area
2. At circulation desk, scan the books through Oliver directly into your campus’s Quarantine Room borrower. 3. Take books to designated quarantine area/room. Place in the appropriate tub/box. 4. Show current date and date for removal from quarantine on tub/box - using mini-whiteboard if available, or A4 sheet of paper.
5. Remove gloves and place in bin.
Part 2: Wearing fresh set of disposable gloves
1. Check quarantine room/area and collect any books that are ready to be ‘released’.
2. Take books to work area and wipe over using appropriate cloths and spray set aside for this task. 3. Scan through Oliver Returns to remove the book from Quarantine Room . Put aside any books that now show up as having been reserved by a student or staff member. 4. Undertake your campus’s usual process for preparing any Reserved books for collection.
5. Re-shelve books.
6. Dispose of gloves.
